Video Chimney Scanning

A Clean Chimney Is A Safe Chimney

Think again if you think the only time to pay attention to the chimney is winter.

During the summer, the chemicals from the creosote degrade the mortar joints of the flue liner tiles.  The degraded mortar creates turbulence in the chimney during winter use.  This turbulence causes the heat gasses to linger in the chimney longer, creating more pockets for creosote to form and continue the process over time.

A yearly chimney sweep reduces the degradation of the flue tile mortar and increases airflow of eh heated gasses during winter use.

Type of chimney inspections

Level 2 Inspections – A video camera is required to review all mortar joints, cracked flue tiles, and ash buildup.  This inspection is required for resail home inspections.

Level 3 Inspections – this is a destructive inspection to investigate why a chimney fire happened.
